# Tips and Tricks for Data Engineering in the #GOshop
Abstract: Data Engineers today work primarily in Python and Java to create large scale pipelines and Data platforms for their companies. As a Data Engineer I have spent the past two years working exclusively in Go. We have had a variety of unique data problems such as hippa and pii requirements, over 40+ 3rd party data sources, cloud scaling, etc. We ended up building out data platforms mostly from scratch, and we learned many lessons the hard way. In this talk I want to share what I have learned and tips and tricks for success.
