What type would you set for a variable that can be either an int or a float64? In this talk I will talk about the empty interface in Go. We will look into why we need the empty interface type and how it is used.
I have been writing Go since 2013, including contributions to the Go standard library. I have written highly concurrent services, language parsers and interpreters, and static analyzers in Go. My passion is designing and building dev tools.
I have also worked as a full stack and web developer using Typescript, React, and Vue.
My current side-project is designing and implementing a strongly typed, declarative scripting language in Go. I’m also interested in functional languages like Idris, Haskell, Scala, Clojure, and OCaml. Currently, watching closely the development of Cuelang (a declarative configuration and data validation language).
Note: I will need visa sponsorship in order to be able to work in the UK or the US.
