Thorsten has been working as a developer in the e-commerce environment for over 8 years and is passionate about TDD and „unsmelly“ code.
He is a core team member of the [Flamingo](https://www.flamingo.me/) framework and focuses on developer trainings.
In recent years, he has mainly worked on big e-commerce platforms and marketplace solutions in the aviation industry.
Originally, Thorsten comes from the Magento/PHP world and started with go the hard way in the beginning of 2017, when he joined an ad hoc PHP-team, which then decided to switch over to go on the first day.
Modern web apps face new challenges when it comes to availability and performance. It is mandatory to gain operational insights in real-time and get early warnings to prevent outages. In a live coding session we kickstart a web app and show how we can easily include opencensus metrics and tracing.
