Egon Elbre

Software Engineer
Egon is a software engineer with 20+ years of experience and has been using Go for 15+ years. He is also the author of the most used Gopher gifs.
He likes working on performance-sensitive code and squeezing every last drop out of the CPU.
One of his goals is to find and understand the fundamentals of programming: things that stand the test of time and won't change daily, unlike your favourite web framework.
When he is not neck-deep in code you can find him drawing gophers, composing music or dancing.

Where do ideas come from? (Keynote)
November 03 2026 - 17:45 (45 min )

How do people come up with ideas for algorithms, software architecture,
products or games? Some people can come up idea after idea, while some struggle
to come up with one. It's tempting to call it just "genius" or "talent",
but look closely enough you can notice underlying habits and skills that
they have cultivated.

In this talk I'll dissect creativity and how you can train your skills
and habits so ideas will come easier. I'm not saying it's easy, just
that it's possible.

LEVEL: Introductory and Overview
